U.S. scientists have discovered an acute inflammatory syndrome in adults previously associated with children and connected with COVID-19, Report says, referring to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
MIS-A inflammatory syndrome, a complication of coronavirus, may develop in children and adolescents who have recovered from COVID-19.
Patients without acute respiratory diseases have heart and gastrointestinal problems, i.e., arrhythmia (abnormal heart rhythm - ed.) and abdominal pain.
Experts described 16 cases recorded in patients aged 21-50 in the United States and the United Kingdom. All patients were diagnosed with arrhythmias. Twelve people have a fever, and only eight of them have respiratory symptoms. As a result, ten patients were taken to the intensive care unit; two people died.
