Ministry of Health: Azerbaijan has enough vaccines

"Booster dose is a requirement of the pandemic period," said Tayyar Eyvazov, an infectious disease specialist at the Ministry of Health, Report informs.

According to him, about a third of those who got two doses have already taken a booster dose:

"So, they can extend the validity of the vaccine certificate and avoid restrictions. Otherwise, those who take two doses become susceptible due to weakened immunity. By allowing these people indoors, we can let the infection spread more quickly. Therefore, the application of certain restrictions is the right step."

"Today, the word "no vaccine" is never used in Azerbaijan. Anyone can apply and be vaccinated whenever they want. The importance of the booster dose during the Omicron wave is great. The growth trend will continue. The third dose is strongly recommended to reduce the severity of the disease, as well as hospitalization," Eyvazov stressed.
