Azerbaijan, like other countries, reports a high increase in the number of Omicron cases, said WHO Representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci.
Report quotes her as saying the measures to be taken against Omicron are the same as with other strains:
"I urge those who are not inoculated to be vaccinated. The number of infections is very high, but the disease is primarily mild, and there is no growth in deaths. New strains may emerge in the future. The government may decide on lockdowns."
Harmanci noted that the WHO and UNICEF are in favor of keeping schools open and recommend that closures be carried out locally.
