Azerbaijan reduces quarantine period for those who contract coronavirus infection, said the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Compulsory Medical Insurance and the Azerbaijani Management Union of Medical Territorial Units (TABIB) in a joint statement, Report informs.
The statement says that the Omicron strain of the SARS-CoV-2 virus has been spreading in the world recently: "The World Health Organization calls on countries to reconsider their measures to combat the disease. Therefore, considering the new strain's specific features, the test strategies, quarantine periods, patient observation, and treatment methods are changed. Therefore, considering the international experience and the results of existing scientific research, the period of isolation (quarantine) of persons with a "positive" SARS-CoV-2 PCR test result and their identified "close contact" in our country is reduced from 14 days to 7 days from the date of January 24, 2022.

• Ventilate your isolation area frequently.
• Measure your body temperature twice a day.
• Drink plenty of fluids.

• If you have an uncontrolled high fever (> 38.5 ℃, resistant to antipyretics) for more than five days, inform your family doctor.
