Baku. 19 October. REPORT.AZ/ "I will assist the development of humanitarian and cultural relations between Azerbaijan and Italy," speaker of the Italian Senate Maria Elizabetta Alberti Cazellati said.
Report informs that the Italian official was speaking at the meeting with students of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
"I am happy to be here as the chairman of one of the supreme bodies of Italian government. I would like to say that I will spare no effort for the strengthening of the Azerbaijani-Italian ties, particularly in humanitarian and cultural sphere," she said.
The Italian senate speaker also noted that language is a factor connecting people and cultures.
On his part, the rector of the Azerbaijan University of Languages Kamal Abdulla said that special attention is attached to the Italian language at the university.
"As you know the Week of the Italian language is held for the 18th times throughout the world. And certainly we also mark it in our university. Such academic and cultural ties make nations closer and strengthen links," he said.
Dyring the event the Italian Senate chairman was awarded the title of the honorary doctor of the Azerbaijan University of Languages.
