Samad Seyidov: 'If Azerbaijan is not treated as it deserves, our position will remain unchanged'

If we do not see a normal attitude, if the victorious Azerbaijan is not treated as it deserves, our position will remain unchanged, Samad Seyidov, head of Azerbaijan's delegation to the PACE, told journalists, Report informs.

“The Council of Europe, as well as other international organizations, cannot talk to Azerbaijan in the language of blackmail. No one can threaten our country. Azerbaijan is a victorious state that has restored its territorial integrity. Therefore, such attempts seriously damaged the values, existence, and influence of the Council of Europe and its Parliamentary Assembly in Europe and the world. It is impossible to hold a conversation, establish a dialogue, and explain the current situation within such an organization,” Seyidov said.

He said that the delegation will think about returning to PACE. This will not be possible until the atmosphere in this organization changes, the rhetoric against humanity is removed from the daily routine, and the organization puts an end to double standards, Islamophobic, Turkophobic, and Azerbaijanophobic attitudes. We believe that this is a serious signal to countries and circles that want to speak with our country in another language.”
