PACE co-rapporteurs to visit Azerbaijan in early March

Baku. 3 February. REPORT.AZ/ Co-rapporteurs of the Monitoring Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) on Azerbaijan will visit Baku in early March. This was stated by newly appointed co-rapporteur Report PACE Monitoring Committee on Azerbaijan Tadeusz Iwiński (Poland).

He noted that he plans to arrive in Baku together with his colleague Pedro Agramunt in the first week of March.

During the visit, the co-rapporteurs will hold a series of meetings with officials. The purpose of the visit - the study of the obligations of our country in the Council of Europe.

Commenting on his appointment, Tadeusz Iwiński said Report that, he is well familiar with the region, repeatedly visited Azerbaijan: "Since the late 90s, I visited Azerbaijan several times. My first visit to your country was as the head of the PACE Committee for Migration and Refugees. As a scientist, I twice visited scientific conferences in Baku, as well as observer I took part at the parliamentary and presidential elections in Azerbaijan with a delegation of the Council of Europe. "

Tadeusz Iwiński was elected PACE Monitoring Committee co-rapporteur on Azerbaijan on January 29 during the winter session in Strasbourg. In this role, he was succeeded by Joseph Debono Grech (Malta).

Tadeusz Iwiński is a member of the PACE since January 1992, for several years he was vice-president of the Assembly, as well PACE rapporteur on Chechnya.
