New supply of COVID-19 medical equipment arrives in Azerbaijan

Azerbaijan has received 168,000 personal protective equipment within the Solidarity for Health Initiative project implemented by the World Health Organization (WHO) with the financial support of the European Union, Report says. 

The new supply will be distributed among the relevant medical institutions.

WHO Representative in Azerbaijan Hande Harmanci and Head of the EU Delegation to Azerbaijan Kestutis Jankauskas spoke about the importance of the health facilities in the fight against coronavirus.

"It is vital for health workers to protect themselves against COVID-19," said a WHO spokesman.

"There is nothing more valuable than human life and health. "Today's project is part of a solidarity initiative," the head of the EU Delegation said. He urged everyone to wear medical masks for the safety of themselves and others.

"Only by taking such steps can we return to normal life as soon as possible," Jankauskas said.
