Narinen: Support from regional countries will contribute to Armenia-Azerbaijan peace

Neighboring countries can help speed up the signing of a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, first of all, it is Georgia, the Ambassador of Finland to Azerbaijan, as well as to other countries of the South Caucasus, Kirsti Narinen, told Report.

“Negotiations to normalize relations and promote a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, I hope, will bring tangible results, and sustainable peace in the region can soon be achieved,” she said.

According to the ambassador, a regional approach is needed to normalize relations, and in this sense, Georgia can play a big role.

“However, at the moment, I think the word ‘mediation’ is not entirely appropriate. It is better to use the term ‘assistance’,” Narinen said.
