Mexican Ambassador visits Central Election Commission

Baku. 1 February. REPORT.AZ/ On February 1, the Ambassador of Mexico to Azerbaijan, Rodrigo Labardini, has met with the Chairman of the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), Mazahir Panahov.

Report was informed in the CEC press service. 

At the meeting, Ambassador Labardini presented extensive information on the activities and functions of the National Electoral Institute (INE). He also showed statistical data and some more specific details about the procedures that will be carried out during the celebration of the next elections in Mexico. He also stressed that the INE has shared its experience with several foreign countries, to whom he has provided comprehensive advice to establish an adequate electoral mechanism for holding their elections.

Panahov spoke, for his part, about the structure and functions of the entity he heads. He underlined the collaboration links of the Commission with various international organizations. He also discussed the possibility of organizing some bilateral meetings in the framework of international events, held in third countries.

The parties welcomed the strengthening of bilateral ties between Mexico and Azerbaijan in last years.
