Deputy FM: European energy security issues play important role in EU-Azerbaijan relations

Baku. 1 February. REPORT.AZ/ Equitable cooperation with EU is among priorities of Azerbaijan’s foreign policy, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mahmud Mammadguliyev said at an event dedicated to Romania's presidency in the EU Council.

"Last year was very productive in terms of determining our agenda. The main issue of today's cooperation is the signing of a new agreement,” the deputy minister noted.

According to him, issues of Europe’s energy security is very important for Azerbaijan-EU relations.

"We attach great importance to this. We implement major energy projects - TAP, TANAP. In 2020, our gas will be delivered to Italy. Our projects will change the energy map of the entire world," said Mahmud Mammadguliyev.

The Deputy Minister noted that Azerbaijan is also the initiator and participant of several major transport and logistics projects that will allow to link Europe to Asia.
