Khalaf Khalafov: Azerbaijan tries to strengthen solidarity of Muslim states

Baku. 4 July. REPORT.AZ/ Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized the Iftar for ambassadors of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan on the occasion of the month of Ramadan.

Report was told in the Ministry, Deputy Foreign Minister Khalaf Khalafov said that Azerbaijan, as an integral part of the Islamic world, attaches great importance to development of comprehensive relations with Muslim countries. He stressed that cooperation among Muslim countries in the political, economic spheres is deepening with each passing day.

Mr Khalafov said that the relations between Azerbaijan and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) develop in ascending line. He noted that, official Baku tries to further strengthen the solidarity between Member States of the OIC.

The meeting touched upon the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. The deputy minister said that Muslim countries support the position of Azerbaijan in the settlement of the conflict, the OIC has repeatedly adopted resolutions that reflect the reality, justice, international law and the position of Azerbaijan, and expressed his gratitude for the support.

Mr Khalafov wished the ambassadors of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan success in works, prosperity, happiness and development of their peoples.

Speaking on behalf of the ambassadors of Muslim countries in Azerbaijan, the Ambassador of Morocco to Azerbaijan Hassan Hami expressed his gratitude for the organization of Iftar.
