Eastern Partnership summit opens in Riga

Riga. 21 May. REPORT.AZ/ Riga hosts IV Summit of the Eastern Partnership today.

As Report informs, this evening the Heads of States and Governments of the European Union and members of the Eastern Partnership will bring together in the "House of the Blackheads" at a gala dinner , which to be held behind closed doors.

The official part of the summit will be held on May 22 in the building of the Latvian National Library.

The summit participants will discuss the implementation of the Eastern Partnership, as well as prospects for its development.

Azerbaijan will be represented at the summit by the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of Azerbaijan, Novruz Mammadov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs Elmar Mammadyarov.

In the framework of the summit also were held the First Media Conference of the Eastern Partnership countrues and the III Business Forum of the Eastern Partnership.

The Eastern Partnership launched in Prague in 2009, and aimed the rapprochement of the EU with six countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.
