Chizhov: Cooperation of Serbia and Azerbaijan on gas not to hurt relations with Russia

Baku. 29 May. REPORT.AZ/ Possible participation of Serbia in the construction of a gas pipeline from Azerbaijan will not prevent cooperation with Russia. Report informs referring to Russian media, Russia's permanent representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov said.

"It's not surprising that the countries of south-eastern Europe, including Serbia, as well Macedonia, judging due to the recent statements, looking what alternatives may be of interest to them. This doesn't mean that, they reject the implementation of joint projects with us", V.Chizhov told reporters in Moscow.

According to him, Russian participation possible in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).

A day before Prime Minister of Serbia Alexandar Vucic said, Serbia is ready to diversify its sources of gas supply, in particular by joining the gas pipeline, which will supply energy resources from Azerbaijan to Europe.
