Azerbaijani, Turkish diplomats hold talks in US

Turkey's newly appointed Ambassador to the United States Hasan Murat Mercan met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to the United States Elin Suleymanov, the Turkish Embassy in the US told Report's local bureau.

The meeting participants discussed friendly and fraternal ties between Azerbaijan and Turkey and stressed that the relations were going through the deepest historical period.

The political will of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, the historical role of the fraternal relations of the heads of state in achieving all the successes between the two countries over the past period were noted.

Murat Mercan previously served as Turkey's Ambassador to Tokyo. He paid his first visit to the Azerbaijani Embassy in Washington.
