Azerbaijani President receives Iranian Defense Minister

Baku. 20 April. REPORT.AZ/ On April 20, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Iran's Defense and Support to Armed Forces Minister Hossein Dehghan. Report informs that the President expressed his satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iran.

Noting the importance of meetings with President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani both in Azerbaijan and Iran, as well as within the framework of international organizations, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the development of the relations in various fields as a result of joint efforts.

Minister Hossein Dehghan conveyed the greetings of President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rouhani. Iranian Minister of Defense and Support to Armed Forces stressed the importance of strengthening relations between Iran and Azerbaijan. He noted that the national leader Heydar Aliyev was the architect of the modern Iranian-Azerbaijani relations and said that today President Ilham Aliyev's political will and determination establish a firm background for the further development of relations.

The sides exchanged views on the prospects of military-technical cooperation.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed gratitude for the greetings of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani and asked him to convey his greetings to the President of Iran.
