Azerbaijani First Deputy PM attends CIS Economic Council’s meeting

The 101st meeting of the CIS Economic Council was held in Moscow on March 29, and a wide range of issues of economic cooperation between the CIS countries were discussed at the meeting.

According to the Russian Bureau of Report, the meeting was chaired by the Deputy Prime Minister of Russia, Alexei Overchuk.

Azerbaijan was represented at the meeting by First Deputy Prime Minister Yagub Eyyubov.

The members of the Economic Council heard information about the activity of the Interregional and Cross-Border Cooperation Council of the CIS in 2019–2023.

At the meeting, a number of issues, including the concept of further development of cooperation in the chemical industry between CIS countries and the action plan for its implementation, the issue of barriers to mutual trade between CIS countries and recommendations for their elimination, cooperation in light industry, financing of CIS structures, development of the insurance services market, the tasks of the implementation of the Action Plan for the implementation of the first stage of the Economic Development Strategy of the CIS for the period up to 2030, were reviewed.

The next meeting of the Economic Council is planned to be held in Moscow on June 21, 2024.
