Azerbaijan's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Jeyhun Bayramov, and Russia's Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, exchanged letters on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Russian Federation.
According to Report, Bayramov emphasized in his letter that over the past decades, bilateral relations between the two countries—built on shared historical values, mutual respect, and trust—have successfully evolved from strategic partnership to allied cooperation.
"Undoubtedly, the regular high-level political dialogue has always set the tone for the comprehensive Azerbaijan-Russia partnership, serving as a key factor in its progressive development. The signing of the Declaration on Allied Cooperation on February 22, 2022, marked a qualitative leap in interstate relations and laid a solid foundation for long-term cooperation across various fields," the letter stated.
The Azerbaijani Foreign Minister highlighted that allied cooperation continues to strengthen through intensive bilateral contacts.
"A clear example of this is the steady growth in trade turnover, the expansion of the legal framework, and the successful implementation of joint projects and initiatives. Cultural and humanitarian ties, as well as interregional cooperation, hold a special place in the bilateral agenda. Close collaboration between our foreign ministries undoubtedly contributes to strengthening allied cooperation on a wide range of issues of mutual interest," he noted.
Bayramov expressed confidence that Azerbaijan-Russia relations will continue to deepen and expand, bringing new dimensions to cooperation in the interests of both nations and their peoples.
