Azad Rahimov: Azerbaijan's youth policy model deemed a great success in international arena

Baku. 22 November. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijan successfully established bilateral cooperation with 60 countries in the field of youth, including with most of the CIS countries.

Report informs, Azerbaijani Minister of Youth and Sports Azad Rahimov said at the XX Meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of CIS member states in Baku.

"For 25 years after gaining independence Azerbaijan is developing in many directions, the priority today is the youth policy. 27 percent of the population are young people, so youth development is important for Azerbaijan", said A. Rahimov.

A. Rahimov said that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to developing relations on bilateral basis in the field of youth and with other countries.

He reminded that Azerbaijan successfully completed two state programs on youth development, the third program is being implemented at the moment.

"Over the past five years more than 700 events, 150 international events, about 12 thousand regional events held in Azerbaijan", said A. Rahimov.

The minister said that about three thousand projects have been successfully implemented with the support of the Youth Foundation.

According to A.Rahimov, Azerbaijan's youth policy model deemed a great success in international arena, that is why Azerbaijan was elected a partner and the venue for the First Global Youth Forum.

Minister stressed that the adoption of the final document on the results of the meeting will contribute to further development of youth policy of CIS member states.
