Ambassador: Russia will do everything possible to ensure closer interaction and cooperation with Azerbaijan

Baku. 20 August. REPORT.AZ/ “We have never tried to put anyone before a choice. I believe that Russia and Azerbaijan are sovereign sustainable, stables states that are in a position to determine the circle of their friends on the international arena”.

Report informs, Russian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mikhail Bocharnikov said at a press conference responding to a question about relations of Baku with Moscow and Washington, given the confrontation between the US and Russia.

"I think that for its part, Russia will do everything possible to ensure that our interaction and cooperation will become closer," the ambassador added.

"The unipolar world has outlived itself and does not work. In the world there are many different centers of influence, many large countries that build their relations based on their national interests. It is not my right to assess the policy of Azerbaijan, since it is a sovereign state. I can say about Russia. Any attempts to control Russia, to subordinate it - this never has been, never will be”, - Bocharnikov said.
