Action took place in Georgian region of Sagarejo in connection with January 20 tragedy

Tbilisi. 20 January. REPORT.AZ/ An action was held in connection with the anniversary of the tragedy of January 20 in the village of the compact residence of Azerbaijanis Garachep in the Sagarejo district of Georgia.

Report’s Georgian bureau informs, heads and members of municipal and executive authorities, schoolchildren marched to the monument erected in the village in memory of the martyrs of January 20 and the events of April 9, laid flowers to the monument.

Participants in the action with flags of Azerbaijan and Georgia, photographs of the martyrs in their hands, as well as drawings of students dedicated to the martyrs, chanted the slogans "The martyrs are immortal, Homeland indivisible," "We will not forget the martyrs," etc.

The action continued at the monument.

Condolences were paid to the family of the deceased during the events of 20 January Gaibov Alesker Yusif, who was from the village of Garachep, was honored with the memory of martyrs.

The brothers Amir and Nariman Gaibov brothers, members of the rural municipality Rizvan Mammadov, Elshad Gurbanov, chairman of the Council of Elders Aghabala Kheirkheberov and others spoke about the bloody January tragedy. It was noted that not only residents of Garachep village, but residents of Sagarejo district and all Georgia will not forget the consequences of the events of January 20 and April 9. These events are bloody pages of the history of both peoples, and along with this glorious page of heroism:

"Those who fell during the bloody events in January and April in their blood wrote a glorious page of our independence. No nation will forget their heroes, and we will not forget”.

Then the schoolchildren read poems dedicated to martyrs.
