Baku. 24 October. REPORT.AZ/ UEFA has paid over 423.1 million EUR to 56 clubs that participated in the group stage and / or the playoffs of the Europa League in the 2016/17 season.
Report informs referring to the UEFA official website, 56 participants of the group stage and / or play-offs of the UEFA Europa League-2016/17 were paid over 423.1 million EUR by UEFA - compared with 411.1 million euros in the 2015/16 season.
Members of the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League receive a portion of the net revenues from these tournaments. According to the distribution system, 60% of the total amount is divided among all the participants of the group stage of the Europa League. Another 40% is distributed depending on a number of factors, including the share of each national market.
Each participant of the group stage received EUR 2.6 million each. For each victory the team received 360 thousand euros, while 120 thousand euros for a draw. Unplayed money (120 thousand euros remaining in case of a draw) were distributed among all participants of the group stage in proportion to the number of victories of each team.
Each winner of the group received 600 thousand euros, and the second place brought the club 300 thousand euros. For participation in the 1/16 finals 500 thousand euros were supposed, and the yield in 1/8 finals brought 750 thousand euros. Eight quarter-finalists received 1 million euros, and four semi-finalists - 1.6 million euros.
The winner of the Europa League Manchester United earned 6.5 million euros, while the finalists from "Ajax" were paid 3.5 million euros. Money from the marketing pool distributed according to a number of factors, including to the specific weight of the national telemarket, to which the club belongs.
Total amount of 423.1 million euros includes 23.5 million euros, which at the end of the season were distributed among all the participants of the group stage in proportion to their performance in the course of the season.
It does not take into account the payment of solidarity to the participants of the qualifying rounds, as well as additional payments of solidarity to the national leagues for the development of club projects for children's and youth football.
In the 2016/2017 season, Qarabag and Gabala were represented by Azerbaijan at the Europa League group stage.
Aghdam representative earned 3,824,399 euros. Of this, 2.6 million euros were attributed to the group stage, 922,000 euros, and 302,399 euros for the club's market share. Gabala won 2,900,291 euros in all group stage games.
Red-Blacks, in addition to the 2.6 million euros paid for the group stage, received 300,291 for its market share.
Notably, Qarabag has completed the Euroleague group stage last season with 2 victories and 1 draw. Gabala has lost all 6 games.
