UEFA discloses profit from 2018 qualifying round

Baku. 26 February. REPORT.AZ/ UEFA has earned € 1 billion from the 2018 World Cup qualifying round.
Report informs, Finance Director Joseph Coller said at the 42nd Congress of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) in the capital of Slovakia, Bratislava.
He said the revenues of the Union of European Football Associations amounted to € 2.8 billion in 2016-2017 season: "Our revenues increased by 6 percent and totaled 2.8 billion euros. 85 percent of the amount was distributed among national associations. As a result, UEFA's net income was € 209 million”.
Notably, the 2018 World Championship will be held in Russia on June 14-July 15. The UEFA fiscal year is scheduled from July 1 to June 30.
