Turkish football club to be named after martyr

Baku. 25 October. REPORT.AZ/ Name of soldier Ömer Halisdemir who shot dead general Semih Terzi during military coup attempt in Turkey by Fethullahist Terror Organization (FETÖ) will be given to a Turkish club. Report informs referring to Sabah, member of Trabzonspor board of directors Gökhan Saral stated.

G. Saral stated that an amateur football club of Chukurkuyu region where the martyr was born will be named after him: “The club's name will change to “Ömer Halisdemir Sport Club”. We met with the club president Doğan Halisdemir. Trabzonspor will support the club to meet all its needs”.

Notably, Trabzonspor club invited martyr’s family to opening ceremony of Akyazı stadium.
