Rovnag Abdullayev: We witnessed one more gratifying event for Azerbaijan’s football

Baku. 31 August. REPORT.AZ/ ‘Yesterday, we witnessed one more gratifying event for Azerbaijan’s football at the Tofiq Bahramov Republican Stadium. Karabakh qualified for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League’, AFFA President Rovnag Abdullayev said while commenting on Karabakh’s qualifying for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League for the next time.

Abdullayev stressed that the club has qualified for the group stage of the prestigious tournament for the fifth time: ‘I congratulate the club’s management, coach and administrative team, players and fans, who have always stand by our team’.

He also noted that the club also has a chance to reach UEFA Europa League final match to be held in Baku: ‘Current season of the Europa League will end in Baku. The Europa League group stage draw will be held in Monaco today. The double gratifying point is that Karabakh is among the 48 clubs which will participate in the draw. This also means that Karabakh has a chance to qualify for the final match to be held in Baku. This is undoubtedly desire of every football-lovers in our country. With hoping our dreams come true, I wish Karabakh success in the future games at European Cup, many matches at Europa League. ’

The final match will be held on May 29, 2019.
