Legendary coach with flight phobia dies

Baku. 25 December. REPORT.AZ/ The legendary footballer and coach of Slovakia, Joseph Adametz, 76, has died in one of the hospitals in Trnava. Report informs that the veteran striker, who is famous for his performance at the Czechoslovakia national team, feared to fly by plane.

It is reported that Adametz refused to fly to the tournament held in Central America in 1999-2002, led by the Slovakia team. On his way to the 2000 European Championship qualifying round with Azerbaijan, he prayed during the five-hour flight.

The Azerbaijan-Slovakia match on October 9, 1999, in Baku ended with a score of 0:1.
