Qarabag FC manager Gurban Gurbanov signed a new record.

Report informs referring to the official website of the Professional Football League, that the Sumgait match within the 12th round in the Premier League was the 382th match of the 47-year-old specialist as a manager in the Azerbaijan Championships. Thus, Gurbanov was named the expert with the highest number of matches in history of the competition.

The former striker, who made his debut at Neftchi FC in 2006, led 28 matches during 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 seasons. Qarabag FC manager since 2008, Gurbanov took part in 354 championship matches with his team. Gurbanov surpasses the record of Gahraman Aliyev, who had 381 games in a high number of years as head coach of "Vilash", "Shamkir", "Masalli" and MOIK.

Notably, the defeat against Sumgayit 1: 2 broke 31 consecutive victories of Qarabag. The last time the Aghdam team lost to Neftchi with a score of 1: 3 on October 28, 2018. The team did not score in the championship match after 390 days. This series is an absolute record of the history of Azerbaijan championships.
