Unibank announces results of activities in 2017

Baku. 19 January. REPORT.AZ/ Unibank OJSC has completed year 2017 with net profit of 4.044 mln AZN.

According to information, last year, Unibank's authorized capital increased by about 1.8-fold and reached 126.985 mln AZN, while aggregate capital reached 67.488 mln AZN.

The bank recorded growth in most areas - in lending and non-credit products, attracting deposits, and digital banking.

Faig Huseynov, Chairman of Unibank Management Board, said that with the close support of shareholders in 2017, the Bank team worked diligently to achieve better results.

One of the banks with largest branch network in the country, Unibank serves 870,000 customers with 32 branches. Despite reduction in the total loan portfolio last year, volume of loans issued in 2017 increased by 2.6-fold compared to the results of 2016.

The bank also achieved significant growth in the number of customers. Number of the customers engaged in small and medium business increased by 25%. The residual amounts of business customers' current accounts have doubled. Number of customers with Unibank salary card has grown by 2.5-fold.

Unibank considers 2018 as the year of economic growth for the country and builds its short and medium-term strategy on this development plan. This year, the Bank will continue to support various sectors of the real sector, further increasing its activity in lending to small and medium businesses.

Unibank, which continue its activity since 2002 after merger of two leading private banks in Azerbaijan Mbank (1992) and Promtekhbank (1994), is one of the largest financial institutions in the country.
