According to the CBA, the operations via Government Payment Portal amounted to AZN 1.412 billion in the first half, which is 34% more than previous year. Cashless operations increased by 3.4-fold to AZN 551 million.
Number of payment cards rose by 14.7% and exceeded 7,000,000. Number of contactless payment cards was 998,000, up 2.4-fold by contrast to a year earlier. Number of contactless operations were 4.6-fold higher than a year earlier.
In the first half of 2019, the operations inside the country amounted to AZN 9.532 billion, up 24% in comparison to a year ago. Share of cashless settlements in the operations carried out via payment cards was 20%, while it was 16% last year.
Number of ATMs went up 90 units to 2,571. Of this, 1,373 ATMs are in Baku, 1,198 in other cities and districts. Number of POS-terminals was 63,396, including 25,747 contactless POS-terminals. Compared to the first half of 2018, the number of POS-terminals increased by 26% or 2,305 units.
