Mastercard: Share of e-commerce in retail to reach 22%

In 2025, there will be 5 billion devices worldwide that support 5G, MasterCard's Business Development Director Mithat Perkoz said, Report informs.

According to him, 5G technology will be available in 170 countries next year.

In 2019, the share of e-commerce in retail trade turnover was 14%, but in 2023, this figure will reach 22%. In some countries, cardholders now opt for a faster payment method by storing card information in reliable sources. For example, 74% of cardholders in Europe use this method.

Mastercard has introduced the Masterpass service. At present, 25% of payments in Turkey are made this way. In the world, 59% of Mastercard holders use Masterpass. The number of users of this service has increased by 21% over the past year, Mithat Perkoz added.
