Azerbaijani MPs join aid campaign for earthquake victims in Turkiye

The members of the Milli Majlis started a campaign to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkiye, Chairman of Milli Majlis Committee for Economic Policy, Industries and Enterprising, Tahir Mirkishili, said at the meeting, Report informs.

"On the initiative of the Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Sahiba Gafarova, the members of the parliament joined the assistance campaign to help the victims of the earthquake in Turkiye. In addition, we will join the humanitarian aid provided to Turkiye by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation," said Mirkishili.

He said that Azerbaijani rescuers are actively participating in earthquake operations in Turkiye: "The forces of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, who are in Turkiye upon the instructions of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, rescued 37 Turkish citizens during search operations. Seven aid planes and 14 TIR trucks have already been sent to Turkiye. This process continues today."
