Analysts: Fed will double discount rate in 2017

Baku. 14 December. REPORT.AZ/ The probability of increasing discount rates by futures market participants, at Federal Reserve System (Fed) meetings in 2017 reached 62%.

Report informs, "VTB24" bank analyst Alexei Mikheyev said.

According to himç the outcome of today's meeting of Fed is no longer important. 

So everyone knows that the discount rate will increase:"In fact, it is clear that the Fed will talk about the next interest rate rise. However, financial markets presume the increase in interest rates up to 1-1,25% in 2017 by 61.9%."

Notably, in December 2015, Fed increased discount rate to the level of 0,25-0,50%. At today's meeting the rate expected to reach 0,50-0,75%.
