Palace of Versailles reopens after 82 days

The Palace of Versailles is one of France’s cultural treasures, not to mention a significant tourist attraction. But this weekend, as it prepares to reopen its doors for the first since the coronavirus lockdown began, it remains unclear how much foot traffic it’s likely to see, Report says, citing Francetvinfo.

It was only the second time in history that the Palace was closed for such a long period. Previously, it was in 1939, with the beginning of World War II.

This Saturday, it will operate on its usual schedule - from 9: 00 to 18: 30. The Grand and Little Trianon palaces, the Estate of Marie Antoinette, and the park with fountains will also be open to visitors. Guided tours to the mansions will be permissible, only from June 10, and the number of visitors in a group should not exceed ten people.
