Volume of oil transported via BTC revealed

More than 25.8 million tons of oil was transported via Azerbaijan's main oil pipelines during the initial eight months of 2024, marking a 2.5% decline year-on-year (YoY), Report informs, citing the country’s State Statistical Committee.
Of the mentioned volume, 75.1% was transported via the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline.
Thus, approximately 19.4 million tons of oil were transported through the BTC over the course of eight months, which is a 3.8% decrease compared to the corresponding period of 2023.
Of this, more than 15.8 million tons, or 81.5% accounted for Azerbaijani oil, while over 3.58 million tons, or 18.5 percent fell to Turkmen and Kazakh oils.
The BTC pipeline currently carries mainly oil from Azerbaijan from the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) block of fields and condensate from the Shah Deniz field. In addition, the pipeline transports other volumes of crude oil and condensate, including oil from Turkmenistan, Russia, and Kazakhstan.
Shareholders of BTC Co: BP (30.1%); AzBTC (25%); MOL (8.9%); Equinor (8.71%); TPAO (6.53%); Eni (5%); Total (5%), ITOCU (3.4%); INPEKS (2.5%), ExxonMobil (2.5%) and ONGC (BTC) Limited (2.36%).
