US expects SGC to expand with new gas sources

The United States currently expects the Southern Gas Corridor (SGC) project to be grown with new gas sources that will be delivered to existing and new markets, Report mentions, citing the US Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The US is pleased to attend last week's 7th Ministerial Meeting of the Southern Gas Corridor Consultative Council, along with President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijani Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov, and representatives of the European Union and 15 other countries.

Kurt Donnelly, Acting Assistant Secretary of State for Energy Diplomacy, and Ambassador Litzenberger represented the US at the event:

"The SGC is a significant technological and diplomatic achievement. We are proud of the fruitful cooperation between government agencies and private companies for completing this project on time and with a budget of less than $ 7 billion," he said.
