Ukraine introduces zero quota for exporting own energy resources

Ukraine’s Cabinet of Ministers has approved zero quota for the export of fuel oil, coal and anthracite (except for coking), as well as natural gas produced in the country in 2022, Report informs referring to the government decree.

Earlier, Dmytro Sakharuk, executive director of Ukraine’s largest private vertically integrated energy company DTEK, said that after the first test deliveries of coal to Poland in the amount of 50,000 tons, the energy holding is considering the possibility of ensuring its regular export. According to his calculations, during the period of a seasonal coal surplus, DTEK could ship approximately 100,000-150,000 tons per month to Poland - the volume that remains after providing its thermal power plants and other consumers.

The clarification about the Ukrainian origin of gas means the possibility of exporting the resource previously imported and pumped into underground storage facilities (UGS) of Ukraine.
