SOCAR vice president delivers speech at forum in Turkmenistan

The trade turnover between Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan has grown five times since 2020, SOCAR Vice President Elshad Nasirov said during the International Investment Forum “Oil and Gas of Turkmenistan” in Ashgabat, Report informs.

He noted that Azerbaijan is interested in cooperation with the countries of the Caspian region and unlocking the potential of the Caspian Sea, and to achieve this, Azerbaijan sees the need for joint efforts.

Elshad Nasirov noted that the Azerbaijani-Turkmen relations are bound by centuries-old friendship. More than 100 documents on strategic partnership have been signed between the two states, he added.

The signing on January 21, 2021 of the Memorandum of Understanding on the joint exploration and development of the Dostlug hydrocarbon field in the Caspian Sea was especially emphasized.

The sides also noted cooperation in the field of transport, where certain progress is planned in bilateral relations.
