As previously reported, no industrial facilities of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) have been damaged by the fire that broke out in the sea on July 4, Report informs, citing SOCAR.

According to the company, all the company's offshore foundations and industrial facilities continue to operate normally.

However, SOCAR has sent employees to the place of the accident to find out the cause of the fire. On the island of Dashly Ada (island), located in the sea between the village of Alat settlement and the town of Neftchala, about 30 km from the shore, there was a mud volcano burning naturally. The fire is about to extinguish, and there was no infrastructure for the oil industry.

As a result of the eruption of mud volcanoes because of association with oil and gas fields, emissions of methane and other hot gases were also observed in the past.
