Norway's export earnings up 66.5% amid rising energy prices

The value of Norway's exports in September increased by 66.5% compared to the same period in 2021, amounting to NOK 217.8 billion (about $20.5 billion), Report informs, citing the Kingdom's Statistics Office.

The increase in the value of exports last month was due to high prices for oil, gas, oil products, electricity, fish and metals, which were much higher than last year's level, the Statistics Office representative Teresa Leken Vestre said.

According to experts, the positive trade balance of the country in September reached NOK 122.4 billion ($11.5 billion), which is twice as high as in the same period last year.

Between January and September 2022, Norway earned NOK 888.7 billion ($83.6 billion) from gas supplies and NOK 397.7 billion ($37.4 billion) from oil exports. The total amount of NOK 1.3 trillion ($121 billion) was also twice as high as last year's figures for the same period.
