"Extensive work has been and is being done to connect Azerbaijan's liberated territories to the main grid of Azerbaijan as soon as possible and create new sources of generation in those regions following the requirements set by President Ilham Aliyev," Report informs, citing the President of Azerenergy Baba Rzayev.

He noted that with the participation of President Aliyev, the 8-megawatt Gulabird Hydroelectric Power Station in the Lachin district and the 8.7-megawatt Sugovushan-1 and Sugovushan-2 Small Hydroelectric Power Stations in the liberated areas of the Tartar district have been completely reconstructed and put into operation: "At present, the reconstruction of Kalbajar-1 and Kalbajar-2 Small Hydroelectric Power Stations is being successfully continued. According to the steps taken to connect the liberated territories to the general grid of Azerbaijan as soon as possible, 110/35/10 kV Shusha, Fizuli, Kalbajar and Jabrayil substations have been built and put into operation in four districts with the participation of the president. Also, the Shukurbayli substation has been expanded and reconstructed. A 75 km long double-circuit 110 kV transmission line was laid from this power facility to Shusha and connected to the Fuzuli substation."

Baba Rzayev said that at the same time, double-circuit 110 kV power lines were laid from the Dashkasan district through Murov Mountain to the Kalbajar region (70 km long) and from Shukurbayli substation to the newly built Jabrayil substation (31 km): "Construction of a 110 kV double-circuit power line to the new Gubadli substation, 45 km from Jabrayil, and the newly built Zangilan substation, 34 km away from there, and the construction of substations are nearing completion. At present, a 110 kV double-circuit line is being laid at a distance of 35 km from the Khindiristan substation, and the Aghdam-1 and Aghdam-2 substations are under construction."

The Azerenergy president noted that in the future, it is planned to lay 330 kV overhead line to Jabrayil substation, 130 km from Agjabadi substation and 132 km from Imishli, and then 330 kV overhead line to Nakhchivan from the Jabrayil substation, as well as to construct new 330 kV substations in Jabrayil and Nakhchivan.

"The new 330 kV substation to be built in the Jabrayil district, along with the Khudaferin and Giz Galasi projects, will ensure the connection of Nakhchivan with the country's main grid. It is planned to build 110 kV substations, connecting lines in Lachin and other liberated territories, and to implement the Karabakh circular power supply scheme. The high professionalism and dedication shown by the Azerbaijani powermen in the difficult working conditions bring the successful solution of the electricity supply of Azerbaijan's liberated territories even closer," he said.
