Lukashenko reveals cost of Russian gas for Belarus

"In 2021, the cost of Russian gas supplies to Belarus will amount to $ 128.5 per thousand cubic meters," the Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko said on the air of "Russia 1", Report states.

Moreover, the president stressed that this price could be "more fair". However, Lukashenko did not discuss this issue with Russian President Vladimir Putin and did not intend to initiate this dialogue.

"If you decide so, let it be so," Lukashenka said.

Last year Minsk paid $ 127 per thousand cubic meters for Russian gas, but the Belarusian authorities insisted on lowering the price. In December, the head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, met with the Minister of Energy of Belarus, Viktor Karankevich. The parties signed a protocol defining the procedure for setting prices for natural gas supply to the republic in 2021. Later, the Ministry of Energy of Belarus announced that the cost of gas in the coming year would remain at the level of 2020.
