G7 countries urge OPEC to increase oil production

Energy and climate ministers of the G7 countries have called on OPEC countries to increase oil production against the backdrop of a sharp jump in fuel prices, Report informs, citing Interfax.
They pointed to the need to reduce the EU's dependence on Russian natural gas and noted the importance of increasing supplies of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to mitigate potential disruptions to pipeline gas supplies, especially to European markets.
