Drilling first exploration well in Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula to commence later this year

Planning for the exploration wells drilling in the selected three prospective areas on Shallow Water Absheron Peninsula (SWAP) is ongoing with the view to commence to drill the first well later this year, Report informs citing BP-Azerbaijan.

On December 22 ,2014, SOCAR and BP signed a Production Sharing Agreement on joint exploration and exploitation works in the perspective structures in the shallow water areas around the Absheron peninsula. The area covers 1,900 square meters.
