Azerbaijani Deputy Minister of Energy, Elnur Soltanov, received the delegation led by Deputy Minister of Energy and Natural Resources of Turkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar, Report informs.

The meeting touched upon bilateral and regional benefits of energy cooperation between the two countries and discussed global energy projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and the Trans-Anatolian Gas Pipeline (TANAP). It was noted that the TANAP project, which is a joint project of Azerbaijan and Turkiye, meets Turkiye's natural gas demand and plays a vital role as one of the primary energy sources in ensuring Europe's energy security. The officials also discussed the steps taken to supply additional gas volumes in the context of increasing gas demand in the region.

The meeting also discussed the electricity exchange between Azerbaijan and Turkiye and the possibilities of transit and export of electricity through Turkiye. There was an exchange of views on the possibility of exporting electricity to Turkiye through the Zangazur Corridor and to Europe through Turkiye, as well as the Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Black Sea subsea cable project.
