Azerbaijan mulls energy co-op with Spain

The Azerbaijani ambassador held discussions with the secretary of state for the energy of Spain on cooperation with this country in the energy sector, Azerbaijani Ambassador to Spain Ramiz Hasanov tweeted, Report informs.

“I would like to express my gratitude to Ms. Sara Aagesen Munoz, secretary of state for energy of Spain, for a very fruitful meeting. I am sure that bilateral cooperation in the energy sector is developing,” he wrote.

The Spanish energy company Enagas owns a 16% stake in the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), through which natural gas from the Shah Deniz field in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea is delivered to European markets. Connecting with the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP) on Greece’s border with Turkiye, TAP passes through northern Greece, Albania, and the Adriatic Sea before reaching the southern coast of Italy.
