Azerbaijan increases revenues from polypropylene exports by over 46%

In August 2021, Azerbaijan exported primary polypropylene worth USD 9 million, up 76.5% or USD 3.9 million from the previous year, Report informs, citing the Export Review of the Azerbaijani Center for Economic Reforms Analysis and Communication.

In January-August 2021, Azerbaijan exported primary polypropylene worth USD 75.9 million, USD 24.1 million or 46.5% more than the previous year.

The SOCAR Polymer project includes polypropylene plants with an annual capacity of 184,000 tons and high-density polyethylene plants with a yearly capacity of 120,000 tons. The polypropylene plant was commissioned on July 18, 2018, with the participation of Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Italian President Sergio Mattarella. Export of polypropylene started on October 5.
