Azerbaijan exported over 10,000 tons of polyethylene in January

In January 2021, Azerbaijan exported 10,235,000 tons of polyethylene in primary forms, according to customs declarations, Report informs with reference to the country's State Customs Committee.

The monetary value of the exported polyethylene amounted to $9.792 million.

According to the committee, this figure is $1.374 million (16.3%) more than in the same month last year.

However, the volume of the exports dropped 2,066 tons or 16.8%.

During the reporting period, the share of polyethylene in non-oil exports amounted to 6.7%.

Azerbaijan produces low, and high-density polyethylene. Low-density polyethylene is made at the ethylene-polyethylene plant of the Azerikimya Production Association of SOCAR. High-density polyethylene is produced at the SOCAR Polymer plant, which was commissioned in February 2020.
