Last year's scheduled maintenance at the Petkim petrochemical complex, which is an investment of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) in Türkiye, will significantly increase the plant's productivity, Anar Mammadov, head of SOCAR Türkiye's refining and petrochemistry department and CEO of Petkim Petrokimya Holding, said in an interview with Haber Turk TV channel.
Mammadov noted that the integration of STAR and Petkim refineries continues, and scheduled maintenance is carried out in the petrochemical complex every 4 years.
There will be an increase in productivity after the scheduled maintenance, he said: "This year we expect a 20% increase in productivity after planned shutdown last year."
Mammadov said that the total production capacity of the STAR refinery, located in the Aliaga settlement in Izmir, is 8 million tons, including 4.8 million tons of diesel fuel, 1.6 million tons of jet fuel and 1.5 million tons of naphtha, which is also aimed at reducing fuel imports to Türkiye.
