Over 7,000 foreign students studying in Azerbaijan

In addition to citizens of Azerbaijan, 7,700 students from 93 foreign countries are studying in higher educational institutions of the country, Report informs, citing the State Statistical Committee.
Citizens of Türkiye, Iran, Russia, Georgia, India, Pakistan, Syria, Iraq, and Nigeria prevail among foreign students.
Moreover, by the early 2023–2024 academic year, the number of students studying in foreign countries at the expense of the state was 997. Some 33.1% of young people studying abroad are graduates of Baku schools, and 66.9% are graduates of schools located in different regions of Azerbaijan.
Most of the students study in higher educational institutions in Türkiye, Hungary, Russia, and China.
