Aziz Sancar calls on Turkic states to invest in science

Investment in knowledge and skills development will help the Turkic world not lose the war or not to lose the discussions, Nobel Laureate in Chemistry, world-renowned scientist, Professor Aziz Sancar said at a press conference in Baku, Report informs.

"For the last five years, I have been visiting all Turkic states, meeting with officials and urging them to invest heavily in science," he noted.

He said that it is essential to invest in basic knowledge in addition to technology: "Weapons or other military equipment can be bought for money. But if they fail, you will be halfway there without professional staff. At the same time, a great investment must be made in basic knowledge in order to reach a level of complete independence and self-determination."
